Hawks Try to Right Ship vs Marquette
Just 10 games into the season the 2006-07 Hawkeyes have already eclipsed their
total in the loss column from a year ago. In 05-06 the Hawks finished the regular
season with a record of 14-7-1 and a conference record of 10-3-1,  which was good
enough for second in the MACHA. Currently, however, the Hawkeyes sit at the
bottom of the MACHA standings with a winless 0-6 conference record.

The IceHawks also find themselves on the wrong side of an 8 game streak as they
lost both of their games against Iowa State D1 this past weekend to make it 8 straight
losses. The Hawks lost 9-2 on Friday in Des Moines, and 11-1 on Saturday in Cedar
Rapids as the Cyclones made sure to smother all hope of an Iowa upset. Although the
Hawkeyes would have at least liked to play rival ISU closer, the losses are the most
understandable of the season as the ACHA Division 1 Cyclones came into the
weekend with the No. 5 ranking in the nation.

The IceHawks will return to MACHA conference play this weekend badly in need of a
victory, and they may be running into the perfect team to get them back on the right
track. The Hawks take on the Marquette University Golden Eagles who have also
found wins hard to come by and have been struggling with the competition in the
MACHA Gold Division. Marquette brings the exact same conference record (0-6-0) as
the Hawkeyes and an overall record of 4-10-0 into the weekend.

The Hawks have not won in over a month, with their last victory coming against
Palmer College on October 1st and with only 8 conference games remaining the
Hawks will need a sweep of Marquette to keep their MACHA hopes alive. The Hawks
will attempt to get back on track against the Golden Eagles at
Coral Ridge Ice Arena
at 9:15 PM on Friday, November 10th and 4:45 PM on Saturday, November 11th.
