MACHA Conference News
At the 2008 annual MACHA Conference meeting six new teams where approved to join the league effective
immediately. Two GOLD Division teams added will be opponents of the Hawkeyes. The Saint Louis University
Billikens dropping down from their previous ACHA Division I status and the University of Kansas Jayhawks who have
played as an independent club the past seven seasons. The addition of these two universities brings the total
number of teams to ten in the GOLD Division and increases the overall quality and depth of the league.
The Hawkeyes will play their toughest conference schedule to date with these two additions to the conference.
2008-09 Hawkeye Hockey Schedule
Team President Joe Scerba, Vice-President Austin Ladd and New Head Coach Nick White attended the meeting and
hammered out the new schedule. Without a doubt, the addition of the new teams makes the Hawkeyes task of
making the MACHA Tournament an even larger hill to climb. With the increased depth of the Gold Division, there will
be no easy games for the 2008-09 team.
