IMPORTANT REMINDER:
ONLY students registered for the 2008-09 fall/winter semesters at the University of Iowa
are eligible for the club hockey program.  At tryouts, you must show proof of University
registration to be allowed to tryout and participate.

The costs for the tryouts MUST be paid in full prior to any player stepping onto the ice
surface. Costs of tryouts will be $75.00 per forward or defenseman and $60.00 per
goaltender.

The tryouts will consist of hockey skills (i.e. skating, passing, shooting), hockey drills, and
game like scrimmages.  ALL players MUST attend all tryout sessions to be considered for
the 2008-09 Hawkeye Hockey Team unless class schedules interfere.  Contact Coach
White if you have a scheduling conflict.

The roster for the GOLD Team will consist of up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) players
with a specific breakdown as follows (Based on tryouts and final numbers the number
of players may be adjusted lower):
15 Forwards - 8 Defenseman - 2 Goaltenders.  The coaching staff will determine the final
roster and post said roster on the website under the results tab above, NO LATER than
Friday August 29th at noon.

The roster for the BLACK Team will consist of up to a maximum of twenty-one (21) players
with a specific breakdown as follows (Based on tryouts and final numbers the number
of players may be adjusted lower):
12 Forwards - 7 Defenseman - 2 Goaltenders.  The coaching staff will determine the final
roster and post said roster on the website under the results tab above, NO LATER than
Friday August 29th at noon.

Per ACHA rules the club will roster twenty-one (21) players per game both HOME &
AWAY, leaving four (4) players inactive for any given game.  The game roster will be
posted on the website by Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. prior to all weekend series
games.  ALL players are expected to attend homes games regardless of their roster
situation.  Players not dressing for AWAY weekend series will not travel with the team  due
to budgetary reasons ONLY.  We have only budgeted for twenty-one players for all AWAY
series weekends.

This will promote competition among the rostered players and makes players earn their
respective spot each and every week, based on their practice sessions during the week
leading up to the games.

ONLY fully committed student/athletes need apply.  If you have other interests and/or
hobbies that will require a majority of your non-academic time commitment and do not
want to pledge to a FULL season of games, practices and related club events - Hawkeye
Hockey is NOT for you.

Each player prior to being selected to the to the team will be asked to sign a commitment
waiver stating that he/she will abide by the by-laws of the program and will pledge their
time and effort into contributing in any way possible to the advancement of the program.

Tryouts for the 2008-09 Season will be held at the Coral Ridge Ice
Arena located in Coral Ridge Mall, Coralville, IA. at the following times
and dates:
Monday - August 25th 8:15 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Tuesday - August 26th 8:15 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Wednesday - August 27th 9:30 p.m. - 10:45 p.m.
Thursday - August 28th 8:15 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
2008 Fall semester classes begin on Monday August 25th.
