Established Hawkeye BLACK, the 2nd hockey team playing as a member of the MACHA Silver
Division and providing additional opportunities for Iowa Students to participate in the growing
program. The goal of the club is to continue to build on their recent success and strive to become a
more competitive team as well as a respected club organization.
2009-10 – MACHA GOLD Division Regular Season Champs – Lost in Tourney Semi-Final to SIUE. ACHA Central Regional Qualifier #8 Seed. Won 1st round game 4-3 over RMC-Maroon. Lost to GVSU 5-1 in National Tournament Qualifier Game.
2010-11 – DII: MACHA GOLD 4th Place Regular Season Finish – Lost in Tourney Semi-Final to SIUE (Finished 3rd Place Overall).
DIII: MACHA SILVER 3rd Place Regular Season Finish – Lost in Tourney Qualifier to Western Illinois (Finished 5th Place Overall). Ranked in ACHA Pacific Region 1st Time in History (Final Ranking of 11th).
2011-12 – DII: MACHA GOLD 3rd Place Regular Season Finish – Lost in Tourney Semi-Final to Mizzou. Finished season ranked at #11 in ACHA Central Region. DIII: MACHA SILVER North 5th Place Regular Season Finish. ACHA Pacific Region Qualifier #7 Seed. Lost to California State – Northridge 8-7 in Overtime.
2012-13 – DII: MACHA GOLD 7th Place Regular Season Finish. Finished season ranked at #14 in ACHA Central Region. ACHA Spring Classic Champions. DIII: MACHA SILVER West 4th Place Regular Season Finish. ACHA Pacific Region Qualifier #9 Seed. Lost to College of Canyons 5-2.
2013-14 – DII: MACHA GOLD 2nd Place Regular Season Finish – Lost in Tourney Semi-Final to SIUE 6-5 in OT. Finished season ranked at #15 in ACHA Central Region. DIII: MACHA SILVER West 5th Place Regular Season Finish.
2015-16 – Regular season 3rd place finish in MACHA gold. Lost in the Championship for the MACHA league playoffs to SIUE. Finished ranked 17th in the region with a record of 10-16-1.
2016-17 – Regular season 3rd place finish in DII Mid-American Conference. Lost to undefeated McKendree University 4-1 in the Mid-American Conference Championship game at St. Louis University’s Webster Groves Ice Arena.
2017-18 Regular season 8th place finish in the DII Mid-American Conference. 9-17 overall record.
2019-20 Regular season 1st place finish MACHA Gold Champions, Ranked #6 in ACHA Central Region. Lost to #7 Aurora University at Regionals 8-5
2020-21 Season Suspended Due to Covid-19
2022-2023- Regular season 1st place finish. MACHA Gold Champions. Central Region Champions. Runner Up 2nd Place Nationals
