Game Won: Hawkeyes double up Bradley 6-3 on home ice

CORALVILLE, Iowa – The Iowa University hockey team started off the 2021-22 season on a strong note, defeating Bradley University 6-3 Friday night at the Coral Ridge Ice Arena.

Luke Imburgia tallied the hat trick for the Hawkeyes and also added an assist for a four-point performance.

“It felt great to get out there and play a game after a long time away,” Imburgia said. “The team played great and my linemates definitely opened the game up for me tonight.”

Iowa netted three power-play goals in the win and Miles Corrigan picked up the win in goal for the Hawkeyes.

Matt Wilson added two goals and an assist and Zack Lupori chipped in a goal plus a helper.

Jake Carlson tacked on a pair of assists for Iowa.

“The team did a great job of pushing the pace and being physical,” said first-year Iowa head coach David VanDeveer. “We were all ecstatic to play our first game and be successful. We will keep moving forward and working hard.”

The two teams meet again Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. back at Coral Ridge.
