Hawkeyes sweep St. Louis for another weekend sweep on home ice

CORALVILLE, Iowa – The University of Iowa hockey team gained another sweep, this time getting an 8-3 win over St. Louis University to complete the weekend series Saturday afternoon at Coral Ridge.

Matt Wilson’s six-point game (three goals, three assists) led the way for the Hawkeyes, while Luca Goulding and Dean Dudzik each had a goal and two assists to back Justin Howard’s winning effort in goal.

“We all put our effort in to get this 2-0 weekend,” said Iowa forward CJ Parisi, who had an assist Saturday and earned the hard hat as the team’s hardest worker. “It was a physical weekend, a lot of weighing on the body, but we came out on top. It was a really solid weekend for us as a whole.”

Jake Carlson contributed three assists and Ben Letto and Michael Viola scored to go along with a goal and an assist from Zach Lupori.

“I felt good out there, and our team looks good,” Howard said. “We’re buzzing, we’re 6-0, and I couldn’t be happier.”

The Hawkeyes are off the next two weekends before playing a home-and-home with Iowa State University Oct. 29-30. The first game is at Ames/ISU Arena Friday night at 7 p.m., followed by the 4:30 p.m. Saturday finale at Coral Ridge.
